I've been saving this tiny piece of batik rayon forever and was super excited to find a pattern that would work for it. The ribbon threads through casings on the top front & back and creates the straps and the bow at center front. I have a wider velvet ribbon that I'm going to put through and then stitch down...which isn't in the pattern, but I think this fabric migrates around on the ribbon more than the heavier weight of a dress will and I'm not 100% comfortable with the whole thing being held on with that little bow. The dress isn't finished yet, but on the list for this coming weekend.
Also made this cute zipper purse. It's made from a dark rinse denim and has turquoise lining & stitching. It also has a padded pocket for electronics on the inside, making it a camera bag on a very long strap.
And finally the quilt top. This is a Quiltville pattern called Hidden Spools, not scrappy like Bonnie's, but made using her directions for the strip sets. Still to be quilted and bound, but it zipped together too fast for me to be cranky about it.
I didn't make this last thing...I bought it. But I didn't kill it yet and love the red color of the leaves that didn't show up so well here. Fall is in full swing here in Colorado, cool nights and lovely, not too hot days. I was going to crop out the foot high weeds at the bottom so my Dad wouldn't see, but then we mowed and weeded and tidied up the front yard so I don't feel quite so bad about the weeds in the back.
24 days to vacation...
